Joe initially joined Mellor Olsson as a partner in 2013 following the merger of Jenkins Anderson and Mellor Olsson and was responsible for managing Mellor Olsson's regional offices. After a brief period outside the firm, Joe re-joined the partnership to specialise in complex estate and succession planning and estate administration.
Joe has a particular interest in intergenerational business succession planning and works closely with accountants and financial planners to ensure the best structure is in place to allow for a smooth transfer of assets between family members. His broad commercial law experience enables him to look at the complete picture and formulate a robust estate plan for his clients. Having come from regional practice, Joe has a significant client base in the agricultural, fishing and aquaculture industries. He is also a qualified Notary Public and can witness internationally recognised documents.
Joe was born and raised in Port Lincoln. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice from Flinders University in 2003. Shortly after graduation, he relocated to the United Kingdom, where he practised in London and Edinburgh with well-known international firms. He was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2005.
In 2006, Joe relocated to Sydney to take up a position as In-House Counsel with a large ASX listed company. After three years in Sydney, Joe returned to Port Lincoln as a solicitor with Jenkins Anderson. He was appointed a Partner of Jenkins Anderson in 2010 and managed the practice until the Mellor Olsson merger. He is now based in our Adelaide office.
